The Florida Gators officially fired Billy Napier on Sunday after the Gators knocked off the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Swamp.
The Gators have one of the top classes in the country so this news was big to several commits and targets of the Gators.
GatorCountry talked with several prospects to get their reactions on the news of Napier’s firing.
2027 receiver commit Tramond Collins– “Honestly it doesn’t really affect the commitment, I mean I’m still open to other schools like Auburn, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss but I’m just waiting to see what happens next.
Offensive line commit Javarii Luckas- “I’m really disappointed in Coach Napier being fired as of now I’m still committed and I want to be a Gator. I just have to see how things play out at the end and leave it in God’s hands.
UNLV defensive line commit Isaiah Broughton- “I’ve been asked this question, but I don’t want to talk about it right now. I had an amazing time on my visit, I love it.”
Defensive back commit Kaiden Hall- “I was looking forward to playing for Coach Napier. I appreciate him offering me after my freshman year. I’m still committed to Florida and I want to talk to my about the next steps.”
Offensive line commit G’nivre Carr- “Go Gators.”
2028 Quarterback Austan Cistiaan- “I have so much respect for Coach Napier and the person he is. His genuine care for his team and players has always stood out to me as a recruit. While I’m sad to see him leave the University of Florida, I’m also excited to see what the future holds for Florida Gators football.”
2027 receiver Anthony Jennings- “I still like the Gators, it was just shocking for him to leave after a win last night. I was just with him as well so it’s just crazy.”
Defensive back commit CJ Hester- “It’s tough to see him go.”
